South West Sydney Regional Weeds Committee

The South West Sydney Regional Weeds Committee (SWSRWC) formed in 1996 to promote a cooperative and coordinated regional approach to weed management in the region.

The South West Sydney region stretches from Sutherland in the South, West to Wollondilly and north to Fairfield and Bankstown Local Government Areas (LGA's). Map of LGA's in the South West Sydney region.

The South West Sydney region covers approximately 178 000 Hectares and contains a wide range of land use including National Parks, rural and urban land of differing population densities.

There are 6 catchments in the Region:
•  George's River
•  Hacking
•  Hawkesbury-Nepean
•  South Creek
•  Wollondilly
•  Upper Nepean

The committee meets quarterly on the first Wednesday of February, May, August and November.
