Sydney Central Regional Weeds Committee

The Sydney Central Regional Weeds Committee (SCRWC) formed in 2001 to promote a cooperative and coordinated regional approach to weed management in the region.

The Sydney Central region stretches south from Sydney Harbour to the Georges River and from Randwick Council in the East, to Hurstville, Canterbury and Auburn council areas to the West. Map of Sydney Central region.

The Sydney Central region mostly contains a highy populated urban landscape with small pockets of remnant bushland and highly modified waterways, all highly vulnerable to weed invasion.

The committee meets quarterly on the third Thursday of February, May, August and November.

The following Regional Weed Plans apply to the Sydney Central Region:

Alligator Weed
Ludwigia
Asthma Weed
Pampas Grass
Bitou Bush
Privet
Green Cestrum
Grasses

Various Regional Weed Projects are being undertaken in the Sydney Central Region to implement these plans.
