Weed Mapping

The Sydney Weeds Committees have been involved in various activities to map priority weeds in the region since 2003. Mapping is considered a useful tool to assist the committees in:
• designing strategies to control priority weeds;
• identifying gaps in areas of works; and
• monitoring of on-ground works across the region.

Weed Density mapping in the Sydney Metropolitan region
The Sydney Metropolitan CMA and the Sydney Weeds Committees are currently undertaking a project to map the density and distribution of selected high priority weeds in the region, according to Regional Weed Mapping Guidelines.

Mapping Resources
Resources to assist people in setting up weed mapping projects. Much of this information was gathered as a result of the Sydney Weeds Committees' Weed Mapping Information Day held in May 2007. Acknowledgment is given to Mr Chris Auricht who pulled together much of this information.

Notes from the Weed Mapping Information Day
A Weed Mapping Information Day was held at Parramatta on 23 May 2007 to promote the development of standardised mapping procedures.
